St. John the Baptist Parish - Parish President Hotard and staff visited hotels over the weekend to welcome and offer support to residents displaced by Hurricane Laura.

In addition to bringing supplies and meeting with CARC representatives, President Hotard and team shared meals with those staying in St. John Parish.  Additional efforts to support these residents are underway.

"We wholeheartedly empathize with those recovering from Hurricane Laura and will do everything we can to assist them while they are staying in our community," said Parish President Hotard.  "Our neighbors to the West were very generous to us after Hurricane Isaac and this represents another opportunity to return the favor to people in need."

President Hotard also teamed up with the St. John United Way to collect donations for hard hit areas. Supplies and non-perishable food items can be donated through Sept. 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the St. John Community Center in LaPlace. To make a monetary donation, please visit www.stjohnunitedway.org.
