President Hotard Announces Groundbreaking for St. John Parish Animal Shelter Renovation Project

St. John the Baptist Parish - This afternoon Parish President Hotard and staff joined by Animal Shelter Manager Rachael Sance, Council Members, and representatives from Jones Construction Solutions, LLC, and Beazley + Longos Shelter Design, broke ground on the St. John Parish Animal Shelter renovation project.

This project will include a 1,270 square-foot addition to the existing facility and will connect, re-organize, and renovate the two existing facilities, while also adding new veterinary spaces and other improvements.

“The Progress is in the air! Our HWH team is hard at work bringing the City of Commerce Animal Shelter project to life, and we’re excited to share a glimpse of the journey.

“The new shelter will provide a comfortable and supportive environment for staff and pets and I am thrilled to see this much-needed project through to completion,” said Parish President Hotard.

The project is expected to be completed in June 2025, weather permitting.
