Parish President and Officials Break Ground on Major Wastewater Expansion Project

Parish President Jaclyn Hotard, alongside Council members, staff, and representatives from the design and construction teams, officially broke ground today on the Reserve Wastewater Treatment Pond Expansion Project—a critical investment in the parish’s infrastructure and future growth.

This project will expand daily wastewater treatment capacity, laying the groundwork for a more efficient, modern, and reliable system. It also moves the parish closer to consolidating all wastewater plants into a single, state-of-the-art facility. “This is about smart planning and real progress for our residents,” said Parish President Hotard. “We are not just maintaining infrastructure—we are making bold, forward-thinking improvements that will benefit our communities for generations. This project is part of over $60 million in wastewater upgrades underway across the parish, ensuring cleaner water, a stronger system, and a better quality of life for our people. We are also grateful for the support of the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ), whose partnership has been instrumental in making this project a reality.”

Construction is expected to be completed by September 2026.###
