St. John the Baptist Parish - The 8-year-old Biddy Basketball All Star Team has advanced to the National Tournament March 13 – 17 in Thibodaux.
The Parks & Recreation recently hosted teams from Jefferson Parish, St. Charles, Kenner and New Orleans for a regional tournament at REGALA Gym in Reserve. With only 3 losses this season, the 8-year-olds beat St. Charles in the Regional Championship game to move on to nationals.
“We want to congratulate the 8-year-old team on their outstanding accomplishment and also thank all for their time and effort in going into a successful tournament,” said President Hotard. “Good luck at Nationals, we are rooting for you!”
The 10-year-old and 12-year-old teams play next weekend.
Registration for the 2020 Youth Baseball, Softball and Soccer Season is open for boys and girls ages 5 to 14 years old until Friday, March 13, 2020. The Parks and Recreation Department is also hosting a soccer clinic Saturday, March 21, 2020 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Hwy 51 “Thomas F. Daley” Memorial Park in LaPlace.
