Communications

The Communications Department is responsible for communicating news, updates and emergency information to residents as well as maintaining and updating all communication outlets.

Economic Development

The Economic Development Department is responsible for fostering economic growth and vitality in St. John Parish by promoting the community as a welcoming place for businesses, workers, families and tourists.

Emergency Preparedness

All emergency preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation activities are coordinated through this Department.

Finance

The Department of Finance is responsible for administering the financial affairs of the Parish.

Grants

The Grants Office is responsible for management of grant programs.

Community Services

The Department of Community Services in collaboration with other entities work to reduce poverty in low income families, aide households experiencing crisis, and improve self-sufficiency through financial assistance and case management services, educational programs, community resources, and local partnerships.

Human Resources

The Department of Human Resources provides an array of services and functions including administration policy development and interpretation, compensation and benefits, employee relations, employee records, recruitment, selection and retention, and training and development.

Fire Services

The Office of Fire Services aims to prevent the loss of life and property by maximizing the ability to respond to the needs of the community through continuous training, planning, and public education.

Parks and Recreation

The Mission of the St. John the Baptist Parish Parks & Recreation Department is to enhance the quality of life for all parish residents by providing well maintained parks and facilities, outstanding programs, as well as activities for the community.

Public Works

The Public Works department is responsible for maintaining Parish roadways, roadsides, drainage and the collection of debris among other duties.

Planning and Zoning

Planning and Zoning Department provides professional planning and building services to preserve the natural resources and qualities of St. John, to enhance the quality of living, and to ensure orderly development.

Purchasing and Procurement

The Purchasing & Procurement Department is responsible for the acquisition of all materials and services acquired by St. John the Baptist Parish.

Utilities

Utilities supplies water and waste water services to the citizens, businesses, and industries to the parish and monitors/repairs water and wastewater distribution systems.
