Parish Employment Opportunities
Application Process
Carefully read the posting and note the minimum qualifications and the selection process. All candidates must meet minimum requirements. Please indicate all relevant education and experience on the application.
A Parish application is required for all Civil Service positions and is utilized as the primary document to determine if the applicant meets the minimum qualifications. Resumes can be included as a supplement but cannot be used in lieu of completing the application. Applicants applying for more than one position must complete a separate application for each position. Applications must be submitted to the Civil Service Office by 4:30 p.m. on or before the closing date, or they will not be accepted.
After the closing date, all applications are forwarded to the applicable department. The department reviews the applications and identifies the most qualified individuals who are then scheduled for oral interviews. Following the interview process, the chosen candidate will receive a conditional job offer pending successful completion of pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check. Successful candidates must present documentation proving authorization to work in the United States (as required by federal law) within 3 days of hire.
After a candidate accepts the position and reports to work, letters are sent by Human Resources Department to all applicants who were interviewed, notifying them that the position has been filled and thanking them for applying.
